World News: Japan, a country known for its cherry blossom and unfathomable work culture is en route to shake things up in the corporate world. Japan has proposed a model of a four day work week to address the concern of labor shortage and work-life balance.
The country’s government, where there is a term for literally working oneself to death, has shown support for the four-day work week since 2021. So far the numbers reveal that 8% of Japanese companies allow their employees three or more weeks off with 7% providing the legally mandated one day off as per the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, Japan.
