K-pop singer Park Bo Ram dies at 30; Investigation is underway to reveal the cause of death

K-pop Updates:  In tragic news from the K-pop industry, the beloved singer Park Bo Ram’s death has been confirmed by her agency XANADU Entertainment. The cause of her death is still unknown and the police are currently investigating the case.     

K-pop Singer Park Bo Ram dies at 30

Bo Ram’s agency XANADU Entertainment revealed the news of her tragic demise. In a brief statement they confirmed, “It’s true that Park Bo Ram died on April 11, the cause of death is currently being investigated by the police.”

Known for her singing in popular K-dramas, singles, and albums Bo Ram sang some of the really popular songs in the K-pop industry including ‘Please Say Something, Even Though It Is a Lie’ (W - Two Worlds), ‘Celepretty’, ‘Sorry’, ‘Pretty Bae’, Dynamic Love, and more.

According to the reports, Bo Ram was found ‘unconscious’ by her friend in the bathroom on 11 April, and could not be revived after getting to the hospital.  She was drinking at her friend’s house in Korea and went to the bathroom. The delay in returning from the bathroom raised the concern of her friend who went to check on her to find her ‘unconscious.’ Consequently, her friend “called 119 and additionally, CPR was initiated on her as per the reports.    The news of her demise broke on 12 April by XANADU Entertainment.  

Park Bo Ram Rise To Fame 

Bo Ram auditioned for Superstar K2 in 2010 at the young age of 17. The singing competition of Mnet was her first step into what would have become a journey of a decade or more for her. She finished in eighth place in the show as one of the finalists, and made her debut in the realm of K-pop music in 2014 with her single ‘Beautiful’. 

As per the reports, Bo Ram was planning to release a new album to mark a decade of Bo Ram in the industry.  On 3 April released her last single ‘I Miss You’ in collaboration with Huh Gak marking her music comeback.

The sudden deaths of Korean artists in the last few years have raised the concerns of the fans as well who are shocked and suspicious of the underlying issues that might be plaguing the South Korean entertainment industry.
