‘Extraordinary You’ actor Lee Jae Wook and Aespa’s singer Karina have confirmed break up as per their statements revealed by their agencies respectively. The couple had a brief romance of around five weeks before they both decided to part ways due to the ‘mental strain’ they have been experiencing since the news of their relationship went public and the controversial ‘dating apologies’.

Jae Wook’s agency C-JeS released a statement confirming the couple’s breakup. The representative of the agency stated “Actor Lee Jae Wook decided to end the relationship to focus on his work that he is currently filming. The two will remain good colleagues and support one another.” Further urging his fans for support the agency said “They will greet their fans with good activities through their respective avenues in the future. Please show your interest and support.”
The singer’s agency, SM Entertainment too affirmed with the statement saying “It is true they broke up”
'Mental Strain' Caused the split
According to a report by TenAsia, the two decided to go their separate ways due to the ‘mental strain; brought by the backlash the singer faced for dating the actor. Some fans felt ‘betrayed’ when Karina revealed her relationship with Jae Wook. The adverse reactions of the fans led to Karina issuing a public apology online where she expressed her regret for surprising her fans and promised to bring her ‘more mature and hardworking’ side to the forefront.
The couple’s relationship came into the public eye after the Korean magazine Dispatch reported about the couple’s ties on 27 February. The news was confirmed by their agencies too.
