A 40-year-old man in the Bankura district of West Bengal was spotted barking  like a dog next to the gate of a government official's car while holding a bag and a stack of papers in his hand. People were shocked to watch this scene in "Duare Sarkar." The policeman was startled and made an attempt to flee. Srikant Dutta of Keshiyakole village of Bikna gramme panchayat of Bankura-2 subdivision of Bankura district of West Bengal was protesting by barking like a dog because of the mistakes of the officials who kept ignoring his surname change appeals.

West Bengal man barks to protest

The person has been identified as Srikanti Kumar Dutta. According to reports, his surname was recorded in the ration card as kutta (dog) rather than Dutta. This made him feel ashamed and humiliated as he already applied twice for the change. On Friday, the incident took place when the Block Development Officer (BDO) went to the "Duare Sarkar" camp in the Bikasa Gram Panchayat.

Speaking to the news agency ANI, Dutta stated: "I requested three times to have my name corrected on my ration card. The third time, Srikanti Kutta rather than Srikanti Dutta was used when penning my name. This disturbed me mentally."

Dutta went to petition for correction once more on Friday, and when he saw Joint BDO there, he began acting like a dog in front of him. How many times do common people leave their jobs to seek correction, the man claimed.
