Indian cinema has evolved tremendously over the years, with breakthroughs in cinematography, the rise of diverse talents, and a shift toward in-depth storytelling. Many Bollywood actors have pushed their creative bounds by taking the director’s chair and showcasing their unique skills. Recently, veteran actor and director Rakesh Roshan revealed Hrithik Roshan making his directorial debut with his upcoming film ‘Krrish 4’.

Continuing the most popular franchises of Bollywood, Hrithik Roshan is all set to make his debut as a director in his upcoming movie Krrish 4, as revealed by his father and actor/director Rakesh Roshan. Sharing a heartwarming post, Rakesh Roshan wrote on his Instagram, “Duggu 25yrs back I launched you as an actor, and today again after 25 years you are being launched as a director by two filmmakers Aditya Chopra & myself to take forward our most ambitious film #Krrish4. Wish you all the success in this new avatar with good wishes and blessings!”
Taare Zameen Par (2007), Aamir Khan’s directorial debut, was a huge success in many ways. While he performed a supporting role in the film, the movie revolves around Ishaan, an 8-year-old kid with dyslexia. The film, starring Darsheel Safary, Tisca Chopra, and Vipin Sharma, carefully depicts the significance of identifying and fostering children’s unique talents.
Ajay Devgn has also directed films, with one of them being Shivaay (2016), in which he also played the lead. The film stars Sayyeshaa Saigal, Erika Kaar, and Abigail Eames in a captivating tale with gorgeous cinematography and dangerous action sequences.
Sunny Deol, known for his stunning performances, also directed the film Ghayal: Once Again (2016). This film featured the return of his iconic character, Ajay Mehra, from the 1990 hit Ghayal. Kangana Ranaut directed and starred in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2019). The historical drama tells the narrative of Rani Lakshmibai, the courageous queen who led India’s 1857 revolt against the British. Ankita Lokhande, Jisshu Sengupta, and Atul Kulkarni also play significant roles in the film.
Arbaaz Khan also showcased his directing abilities with Dabangg 2 (2012), a sequel to the smash hit Dabangg. While directing the film, he also played Makhanchand Pandey, the younger brother of Chulbul Pandey, the fearless and witty cop played by Salman Khan.
