The Currency notes written 'Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai' made headlines at the start of the year 2016. This created quite a stir on the internet. To teach a lesson to his girlfriend, a lover went viral by writing 'Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai' on every 10 rupee note possible. This for sure attracted alot of attention and soon became a meme material for the internet users.  After 5 years, the film 'Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai?' is released on the same subject.

OTT platform Zee5 is streaming the film 'Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai?' Surbhi Jyoti, a television actress, and Punjabi vocalist Jassi Gill,  make their Bollywood debuts in this film. It also features Vijay Raj, Bijendra Kala, Atul Srivastava, and the late actress Surekha Sikri, who won a National Award.

In films, small-town love story has been depicted predictably. In this film, a boy in love follows a college girl. There are many other insane people in that girl's life, but when she laughs at the boy chasing her, the boy realises that she might like him. As the story progress many things unfold one by one which causes a lot of chaos and humor at the same time.
