Layoff News: Rolls Royce to Cut Off Around 2,500 Employees Amid Restructuring

21 Oct, 2023

Layoff 2023: As its top executive is ready to outline his long-term plan for the company, Jet Engine Company Rolls Royce stated it will lay off 2,500 workers throughout its business. When Tufan Erginbilgiç became the new CEO of Rolls-Royce at the beginning of this year, the news of the layoffs was already known to the staff. He informed the Rolls Royce staff that the company’s Aircraft Engine platform was losing money and would be challenging to continue in the long term as soon as he assumed the position and became the CEO.

Who will Be Affected?

According to the company, this layoff will help it cut expenses and shorten supply chain delays. The organisation is reforming itself, according to CEO Tufan Erginbilgiç, and this change will last for many years. Earlier in 2020, the company fired 9,000 workers globally. Rolls-Royce employs 42,000 people worldwide, with over half of them working in Britain, as per various media sources. When Erginbilgiç assumed control of Rolls-Royce in January, he said that significant adjustments would be required to save one of Britain's oldest and most intricate manufacturers from slipping further behind its competitors.
