Jock Zonfrillo Personal Life and Family

Scotch-born Zonfrillo was born in Glasgow. While his father is from Scauri, Italy, his mother's family is Scottish and hails from Dalmellington, Ayrshire. He went to school in Scotland's Ayr at Belmont Academy. Zonfrillo wed Lauren Fried, his third wife, on January 1st, 2017. On Twitter, they connected in October 2014. Around March 2020, Zonfrillo and his family moved to Melbourne after his restaurants closed. The family had been a resident of Carlton before his passing. In October 2020, Fried and Zonfrillo welcomed a daughter. They had four children together.

Jock Zonfrillo Career

He worked for David Cavalier and Marco Pierre White prior to moving to Australia to join Dietmar Sawyere at FortyOne. At age 22, he was promoted to head chef at the English hotel The Tresanton. The chef went back to Australia in January to take the executive chef position at Restaurant 41. In November 2013, he inaugurated Restaurant Orana and Street ADL. His restaurant Orana was named the 2018 Australian Restaurant of the Year by Gourmet Traveller Magazine in 2017. He was named the Hottest Chef in Australia in the same year.

In 2016, Jock established The Orana Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the sophisticated ingredients and cooking techniques employed by early Australians. He is also the founder of the Australian Flavour Lab, according to his Instagram bio. Along with Andy Allen and Melissa Leong, Jock was introduced as the new judge for the cooking competition series MasterChef Australia in October 2019.
