Monsoon DIY Face Pack: After the sweltering heat of tropical India, the monsoon brings a wave of pleasant rain, and cozy weather. Along with the rain comes the humidity, which does not go well with our skin as it tends to get sticky, oily, acne-prone with clogged pores. To combat the oily and sticky feeling on skin, you can try these DIY masks that will keep your skin fresh, hydrated, and non-sticky.
For this simple and age-old mask, all you need is dry multani mitti chunks or powder, and a binder like rose water, honey, or curd. In 2-3 tablespoons of multani mitti add rose water until it combines to become a smooth paste. Apply it on your face, and neck till it dries, and rinse off with preferably lukewarm water. You can apply this pack every once a week. It is best suited for oily or combination skin. It will reduce excess oil and leave you refreshed.
Take 3 cups of oatmeal with enough honey required to make it a slightly runny mask that can be easily put on the skin. To balance its consistency you can also add in some drops of rose water. Apply the prepared mask on your face, and gently scrub with it to exfoliate your skin. Let it try on your skin for half and house and gently rinse it in a circular motion. This mask can be used twice a week to hydrate and maintain the natural pH of your skin.
In one tablespoon of gram flour add a pinch of turmeric powder and mix with rose water to make a smooth paste. Apply it on your face and neck and let it dry. While rinsing it off, gently scrub it on your face to exfoliate as well. This mask will control oil on the skin, and brighten the skin tone while exfoliating dead skin cells.
Blend a slice of papaya with 2 tablespoons of oatmeal to make a coarse paste. Apply the prepared mixture on your face and gently scrub for a minute. Let it sit on your face for a few minutes and then wash it. The mask will not only exfoliate the skin but also cleanse and detoxify it with the goodness of papaya.
Take 2 tablespoons of neem powder and a few pinches of raw turmeric powder to form a smooth paste with the help of rose water or yogurt. After making a smooth paste, apply it to your face and neck for 15 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. The antibacterial nature of the ingredient will help fight acne and control oil.
Use these masks to include natural ingredients in your routine to manage oily and sticky skin during rainy weather, and stay refreshed.
