The world is not unaware of India’s technological talent. The majority of Indian talent formerly turned to America, but today Indian IT professionals are now moving to another destination. According to a recent report, a large number of Indian IT sector professionals moved to Canada between April 2022 and March 2023. According to reports, out of over 32,000 tech professionals, 15,097 came from India, followed by 1,808 from Nigeria, because of Canada’s immigration-friendly national policy and labour cost advantage.
Mississauga and Montreal stand out as the two Canadian cities that have benefited the most from this infusion of global IT talent. Mississauga, which has a thriving community of about 1,000 IT enterprises and a workforce of over 300,000 IT specialists, has emerged as a tech innovation hotspot. Meanwhile, Montreal’s digital environment grew by 31 percent between 2015 and 2020. The report also underlined the rising fascination of Canadian technology prospects for American talent. Interestingly, major US cities such as Washington, DC, Boston, Chicago, and Philadelphia are attracting IT talent to Canada.
