Morning Habits To Start Your Day On A Happy Note & Stay Productive Throughout

Lifestyle Tips:  Mornings are not a cup of tea for all. Staying in the cosy bed after waking up, for having lazy long sleep hours surely ‘bewitches our mind, body and soul.’ So why leave the comfort of a comforter and why not snooze the early alarm to have some extra minutes of peace and calm? Well, simply to have actual happiness, and calmness through the day.

Many CEOs, career coaches, and Scientific studies have backed the importance and benefits of waking up early, and getting the day starting on a healthy note boosts mental, physical and emotional health.  

Just by simply imbibing healthy habit changes in your morning routine will go a long way in helping you to improve productivity and happiness in the day.  

Fixing a bedtime and wake-up time 

Your happy and productive day actually starts the night before. Whether you are a night owl or a morning person, getting your mind and body into a habit of having a fixed routine makes everything way easier for you. 

However, building those habits could be a tad bit challenging. Get in bed to have sufficient hours of sleep to wake up rejuvenated and not cranky. 

Have an early morning (if you can)

Most successful people credit their early morning routine as a part of their success. Getting up early gives you extra hours in the day and some hours to yourself. Waking up in the golden hours of 4 AM to 6 AM has proven to build your energy level for the day. Nonetheless, it allows you some time to rewind in your own company. An essential for self-care.   

Stay Offline

Most of us are guilty of scrolling through our phones in bed as soon as we wake up. It may start with the intention of snoozing your alarm on the phone and going to social media in a flick of a second. Not only does this habit puts a strain on the eyes and mind, but it can also sour your tone for the day if you come across anything unpleasant first thing in the morning. Pick something that does not involve your phone to build as your first instinct after waking up. It can be making your bed, or brushing your teeth and more. Get creative here.  

Meditate

Yeah, it may sound like a broken record now. But the benefits of early morning meditation are unmissable. You get to relax, reconnect and help foster mindfulness. It lends you the power to go through the day as well.   

Work out

Endorphins are your friends. But you need to initiate a conversation with them to get to that level. Moving your body is the easiest way to release endorphin hormones. You could jog, do a happy dance, workout, cycle, stretch whatever feels good to you for moving your body.  

Hydrate    

We are supposed to drink 8 glasses of water a day. It becomes a Herculean task to get done right. Make it easier by chugging half a litre of water in the morning itself so throughout the day there will be fewer glasses to think about. It will also help kickstart your metabolism and flush out toxins. 

Don’t skip breakfast 

DO NOT SKIP BREAKFAST! It is not cool. Eat your eggs, have your juice and fruits. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Skipping it would only leave you to rely on unhealthy options and lack of energy. Also, skip a sugary breakfast and settle for something savoury in the morning. 

Reading 

Good Ol’ Reading. It satiates the ick for something entertaining in the morning no doubt and also activates your brain. It is also a great alternative to instagram. 

We all love happy mornings and productive days. It is not too hard to achieve them, so slowly and steadily alter your habits to healthier ones and seize the day my friend.
