Mukul Dev Death: Film and television actor Mukul Dev passed away on Friday night on 23rd May. The sudden death of the talented actor and model left the entertainment industry in shock. Known for his roles in movies like Son of Sardaar, Yamla Pagla Deewana and Jai Ho, Mukul Dev has worked with several Bollywood celebrities, and he was also a very popular name in the Indian television industry. Mukul Dev is the younger brother of Rahul Dev, and the news of his sudden demise was shared via social media. While the cause of death is still not known, his close friend and actor Vindu Dara Singh claimed that he was hospitalized due to health concerns.
Born in a punjabi family with roots from Jalandhar, Mukul Dev was the younger brother of actor Rahul Dev, and his father was an assistant commissioner of police. Mukul Dev impersonated Michael Jackson in a Doordarshan dance show when he was in eighth grade, and this performance earned him his first pay cheque. Mukul began his television acting career in 1996 with the serial ‘Mumkin’, where he played “Vijay Pandey.” He then appeared in Doordarshan’s ‘Ek Se Badh Kar Ek’ and hosted the first season of ‘Fear Factor India’. He made his Bollywood debut in ‘Dastak’, as “ACP Rohit Malhotra,” which also marked the debut of Former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen.
He appeared in various television serials during the 2000s, including ‘Kahin Diyaa Jale Kahin Jiyaa’ (2001), ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii’ (2003), and ‘Pyar Zindagi Hai’ (2003). In 2008, he took part in the ‘Kabhi Kabhii Pyaar Kabhi Kabhii Yaar’ dancing competition. He has appeared in several Bollywood films, including ‘Qila’ (1998), ‘Wajood’ (1998), ‘Kohram’ (1999), and ‘Mujhe Meri Biwi Se Bachaao’ (2001). In recent years, he has performed supporting roles in films like ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ (2011), ‘Son of Sardaar’ (2012), ‘R... Rajkumar’ (2013), and ‘Jai Ho (2014)’. Mukul Dev last appeared in the Hindi film ‘Anth the End’. Several TV stars and Bollywood celebs paid tribute to Mukul Dev, including Manoj Bajpayee, Deepshikha Nagpal, and Vindu Dara Singh.
