National Nutrition Week 2021:

Nutrition contents in a person’s body are very essential for the proper functioning of the body and avoid deficiencies. And for this, a proper nutrition intake is in our diet is also necessary. While various awareness activities are usually conducted to educate people on the need for nutrition in our bodies, National Nutrition Week being one such important event.

National Nutrition Week 2021 Date: 

The National Nutrition Week is celebrated from 1st September to 7th September.

National Nutrition Week 2021 History: 

National Nutrition Week was introduced in March 1973 by members of the American Dietetic Association to deliver a nutrition education message while promoting the profession of dietetics. In the 1980s the initiative of National Nutrition Week gained much support, and this week-long festival expanded to a month-long observance.

After this, the Government of India started the National Nutrition Week commemoration in India in the year 1982. This campaign was initiated to spread awareness and encourage everyone to understand the importance of nutrition and adopt a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. 

National Nutrition Week 2021 Significance:

Nutrition is the science of consuming and using foods. Food provides our body with energy, protein, essential fats, vitamins, and minerals to live, grow and function properly. Therefore a balanced diet is essential for good health and well-being. It is said that an unhealthy diet increases the risk of many diet-related diseases.

National Nutrition Week 2021 Theme:

The celebration of National Nutrition Week is based on a theme every year, and the theme for National Nutrition Week 2021 is “feeding smart right from start”, which focuses on consuming the right kind of food to keep yourself fit and healthy.
