Upcoming Kdramas 2024: 2023 has been a fantastic year for kdrama fans as viewers were blessed with some good stories and plots, along with visual treats in the form of male leads. Hoping 2024 to be the same, fans are undoubtedly waiting for some exciting kdramas to kickstart the new year with the same enthusiasm while watching Destined With You, The Glory, etc. In January only, there is a line of kdramas releasing with some of the most iconic pairs returning to the screens and gracing fans with thier explosive chemistry.

A Shop For Killers

Starring Lee Dong Wook and Kim Hye Jun, A Shop for Killers presents an intriguing perspective on the life of an assassin, operating a murderous enterprise masquerading as a normal shop. The series is premiering on January 17, 2024 on Disney+ Hotstar.

Gyeongseong Creature Part 2

With part 1 released on 22 December 2023 with 7 episodes, Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee starrer this action horror Netflix series is all set to release the second part on 5th January 2024. The series has a gripping plot set in 1945, when Japan ruled Korea, and weird creatures were created by human experimentation. Two strangers Jang Tae Sang (Seo Joon) and Yoon Chae Ok (So Hee) join hands to protect mankind while strangling with their individual objectives. Part 1 ended with a nail-biting cliffhanger where it is said that Tae Sang could become the next “gyeongseong creature” while parting his way with Chae Ok.

Sweet Home 3

The third and final season of Sweet Home is scheduled to premiere in the summer of 2024, with recently concluding its second season in December of 2023. Fans can expect to see Lee Eun-hyuk (Lee Do-hyun) return in season 3, which will unveil additional plots and the origins, motivations, and vulnerabilities of the monsters. The season 2 finale featured a scene that revealed Lee Eun-hyuk’s survival, leaving fans on a cliffhanger.

Hellbound 2

One of the highly anticipated Netflix series Hellbound took the streaming platform to a storm when the first part was released in 2021. Hellbound is set to return with a second season that features an intriguing plot and a dark fantasy premise, and the makers gave a little sneak peek on what to expect from the upcoming season. The mysterious scene in the teaser, which showed a skeleton inside a glass box changing back into a living person, had fans riveted and excited for Hellbound 2.

Doctor Slump

Fans were left surprised and excited after JTBC announced the drama Doctor Slump starring the iconic duo Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik playing the role of two burn out doctors who resign and reside in a rooftop house, navigating through their growth and develop love for each other. The show is set to premiere on January 27, 2024 on Netflix.

All of Us Are Dead 2

AOUAD made headlines with its first season, with a gripping horror storyline when mankind was fighting for survival from an infectious virus that turned humans into zombies. Starring  Park Solomon, Cho Yi Hyun, Yoon Chan Young, Park Ji Hu, Lee Yoo Mi, and others, the second season will focus on the survival of zombies and will be completely different from season 1. All Of Us Are Dead Season 2 will not replicte the plot of the school apocalypse, as every character will have its own story. Netflix has not yet announced the official release date, but the second season is expected to drop in the second half of 2024.

Squid Game 2

Talking about the most awaited and thrilling Netflix Kdrama that shook the global entertainment industry after its release, Squid Game is set to make viewers enthralled once again with its second season releasing this year. Along with some familiar faces like Lee Jung Jae, Wi Ha Joon, and Lee Byung Hun that will be returning for Squid Game 2, the brand new cast that will join the existing ones includes Im Siwan, Kang Ha Neul, and more. The survival kdrama is expected to release in the second half of 2024.
