Nupur Sharma, a former BJP leader, has got a licence to possess weapons. She reportedly has a licence to possess weapons for self-defense. In BJP, Nupur Sharma served as a spokesperson. In a TV debate, she made divisive statements about the Prophet Muhammad. There was a lot of protest after this. She had been kicked out of the BJP. In other states, cases have also been brought against Nupur Sharma. Additionally, she was frequently threatened with death.
In eight states, there are more than ten cases filed against Nupur Sharma. The Supreme Court, however, sent all of the cases to Delhi. In relation to the Prophet dispute, Nupur Sharma received threats from abroad in addition to India. They were supposedly supporters of Nupur Sharma, which is one of the reasons for the murder of tailor Kanhaiyalal in Udaipur, Rajasthan, and pharmacist Umesh Kolhe in Pune.
