For this week the queue of shows releasing on Netflix, JioCinema, Disney+ Hotstar, and other platforms includes Gurmeet Singh’s ‘Commander Karan Saxena’, Riteish Deshmukh’s OTT debut ‘Pill’, upcoming episodes of Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Showtime’ among others. 

Commander Karan Saxena 

8 July on Disney+ Hotstar 

Directed by Jatin Wagle, the series stars Gurmeet Singh in the titular role of the RAW agent on his way to uncover secrets kept in the dark amid political intrigue and betrayal. The series also has Iqbal Khan, and Hruta Durgule in key roles. 

Wild Wild Punjab 

10 July on Netflix 

With Luv Ranjan, Sandeep Jain, and Harman Wadala on the writer's bench for this Netflix original, stars magnetic Jassie Gill, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh, and Patralekha. Following a bad breakup of one of their friends a boy group decides to take a road trip to soothe the heartache of their friends, but end up entangled in the circle of hilarious mishaps. 

The movie has a significant role in actor Sunny Singh’s life as his mother passed away before this movie, shared Singh as quoted by Times of India. 

Showtime Part 2

12 July on Disney+ Hotstar 

Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, and directed by Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar, the series stars Emraan Hashmi, and Mahima Makwana with Mouni Roy, Rajeev Khandelwal, Shriya Saran, Vishal Vashishtha, Neeraj Madhav and Vijay Raaz in significant roles. The series takes the audience into the world of glitz and glamor prevalent in Bollywood. Hashmi as Raghu Khanna wishes to rule the realm with his dominance, but with the upcoming episode of the show, the journey of each character is inwards portraying their internal battles and the plausible reasons for the external power struggle.

Marking the web debut of Riteish Deshmukh, ‘Pill’ follows Deshmukh as Dr. Prakash on a mission to unravel the dark side of the Indian pharma industry. With the help of three whistle-blowers who aim to bring down the corrupt giants overruling the medicines of the common man, the series takes the audience to the rotting side of an esteemed profession.

Helmed by Munjya director Aditya Sarpotdar, the horror-comedy stars Sonakshi Sinha, Saqib Saleem, and Riteish Deshmukh. In a spooky comedy, the gripping tale is set in a town where every house has two identical doors, with one smaller which needs to be opened every Tuesday at 7:15 to avoid the terror of Kakuda.
