Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has made a big revelation today. He has announced that a statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose will be built at India Gate. In one of his tweets he said “At a time when the entire nation is marking the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, I am glad to share that his grand statue, made of granite, will be installed at India Gate. This would be a symbol of India’s indebtedness to him.” He further tweeted that “Till the grand statue of Netaji Bose is completed, a hologram statue of his would be present at the same place. I will unveil the hologram statue on 23rd January, Netaji’s birth anniversary.” He has made this announcement when it was decided to merge the national war memorial flame with the amar jyoti flames at India Gate.

Opposition Back Clash on the decision

Oppositions have started back clashing this decision and made many allegations regarding this. Rahul Gandhi in one of his tweet said “It is a matter of great sadness that the immortal flame that used to burn for our brave soldiers will be extinguished today. Some people can't understand patriotism and sacrifice – never mind. We will once again light the Amar Jawan Jyoti for our soldiers!”.

On the other hand Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s followers have appreciated this gesture and said that they were waiting for this thing to happen for a long time. They have thanked the government, and has asked them to follows Netaji’s ideologies and work on uniting the nation.

A few days back, the government also decided to start the republic day celebrations from 23rd January to include Netaji Subash’s birthday in these celebrations. They have also named his birthday as Parakram Diwas.
