On Tuesday, April 25, 2023, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened Kerala's Kochi as the country's first water metro. The Kochi water metro is a lengthy vessel with contemporary facilities, such air conditioning. Ten islands in the vicinity of Malabar will be connected by the boat. The minimum and maximum fares have been set at Rs 20 and Rs 40 respectively. Passengers can use a smartphone app to purchase tickets. Additionally, they can get permits for a week or a month starting at Rs 180 to Rs 1,500. The Kochi water metro will connect 10 islands, in and around the port city.
