Post Budget 2024 Conference: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) hosted the Post Union Budget 2024–25 Conference today at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the opening speech. The purpose of the conference is to present the government's overall plan for development and the function of business. The conference was attended by over a thousand people from different sectors, including business, government, diplomacy, and others.
The prime minister highlighted that record tax cuts were followed by record increases in every sector’s budget. The Prime Minister announced that MSMEs with incomes up to Rs 3 Cr would now be eligible for this benefit, whereas in 2014, MSMEs making up to Rs 1 Cr were required to pay presumptive tax. MSMEs with revenue up to Rs 50 Cr were required to pay 30% tax in 2014; today, the rate is 22%. Corporations had to pay 30 percent corporate tax in 2014; however, as of right now, companies with revenues up to Rs 400 Cr only have to pay 25 percent.
