Pride 2024: Abhinav Shares His Life Story of Bullying, Acceptance, And Finding Love

Pride Month: The life of the LGBTQIA+ community is full of personal and societal struggles. Sharing the hurdles, and wins of his life in this episode of ‘Rainbow Tales’ is Abhinav, who comes from a small town in Punjab. As a gay kid, he was subjected to bullying, name-calling, and more, but he finally found self-acceptance, support, and love from those people who matter. 

Acceptance from parents, and finding love 

Coming out has been the hardest part of his love. The first person he came out to was his sister who was supportive, but his parents were on a difficult path. His mother was a simple woman and his dad was a strict traditional man who would “kill him” for his sexuality. The watershed moment for him was an argument with his parents that led him to leave Punjab and go back to Delhi. His biggest support has been the love of his life, his long-distance partner.
