Pride 2024: Suvir Saran Shares His Journey As Gay and the Role of Women In His Life

Pride 2024: Suvir Saran is an Indian chef and author who took Indian cuisine to the international platform. He is the owner of ‘Devi’ America's first Michelin-starred Indian restaurant. As a member of the pride, she revealed that he realized about his identity at the tender age of 3 but lacked the vocabulary or knowledge to make sense of it.  

Grew Up In Women’s Company 

Living in the US as a closeted gay, his maternal grandmother helped him come out by telling him that it was the best way for him to be free. The maternal affection in his from mother to neighbor women has been foundational for him to cultivate the culinary skills that he now possesses. Women taught him handiwork that pushed his creativity.
