Ness Wadia: With a culturally significant and economically affluent lineage, Ness Wadia has emerged as one of the wealthiest businessmen in India. He is the managing director of Bombay Burmah Trading Company, Bombay Dyeing, under the Wadia group, Britannia Industries Ltd. among the many notable ones. He is popularly known to be the co-owner of Indian Premier League’s Punjab Kings formerly Kings XI Punjab.

Ness Wadia’s Family

Hailing from a Parsi family in Mumbai, Ness Wadia was born on 30 May 1971 to business tycoon Nusli Wadia and former air hostess Maureen Wadai. His great grandfather was Mohhamad Ali Jinnah, who founded Pakistan. His family played a crucial role in turning Bombay into one of the world’s largest cotton gin trading centers in the late 19th century. 

Ness Wadia’ Education Qualifications 

Born with a silver spoon, Nadia went to Tufts University, Massachusetts, to study international relations and completed his M. Sc. in Engineering management from University of Warwick, England. 

His schooling is credited to The Cathedral & John Connon School, Lawrence School, Himachal Pradesh, and Millfield School. UK.

Ness Wadia’s Businesses 

Currently, Ness is serving as the director of Bumrah Trading Company Ltd. and chairman of National Peroxide Ltd. He has stakes in several companies as one of the Directors on Boards for Wadia Group companies, including Britannia Industries, Bombay Dyeing, GoAir, and Wadia Techno Engineering Services.   

Adding to that, he is a part of the audit committees for GoAir, Britannia, Bombay Burmah, and NPL; the Finance Committees of Bombay Dyeing, Bombay Burmah, and Britannia; and the CSR Committees of Bombay Dyeing and Britannia and actively participates in the overseeing of Wadia Hospital, and Modern Education Society Trust.  

In 2008, he acquired the ownership of  Punjab Kings (Initially and formerly called KIngs XI Punjab) for $76 Millions along with Preity Zinta and Mohit Burmman. 

From August 2001 to March 2011, he shouldered the responsibility of Joint MD of Bombay Dyeing with which his journey started in 1993 as the management trainee in the Textile Division. 

Ness Wadia Controversies  

Wadia has a notorious reputation of allegedly physically abusing people. In 2014, his former girlfriend Priety Zinta filed a complaint against him allegehing him to have attacked her at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. 

In 2019, he was sentenced for possession of probably Cannabis in Japan.

As of now, Ness Wadia’s net worth is not privy to the public. His family allegedly has 60,000 crores net worth.
