Rajouri Encounter: Martyr Neelam Singh’s 10-year-old daughter pleads her father to return

In a clash between security personnel and terrorists that took place in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, on Friday, India lost five of its soldiers. Neelam Singh Chib, a local of the Jammu district village of Chak Kirpalpur, was one of them.

Pawna Chib, a 10-year-old girl, sobbed as she reached out to touch her father's face and questioned, “Why aren’t you getting up? Dad, I don’t want anything. Please come back.” Neelam Singh, a Paratrooper, was Pavana’s father, and he was buried in front of her. Vandana, Pavana's mother, who was standing close, kept staring at her husband's lifeless face because she could not comprehend that he had passed away.
