Ramadan 2025: During the holy month of Ramadan, most Muslims fast from pre-dawn(Sehri) until sunset. It is essential to eat the right food during Sehri to stay energized throughout the day. A healthy Sehri meal should include complex carbohydrates like oats, brown rice, multigrain bread, and daliya, which digest slowly and provide long-lasting energy. Foods high in protein, such as eggs, yoghurt, and lean meats, help to maintain muscle strength and energy levels. Hydrating foods such as water, honey, cucumbers, oranges, and coconut water help to avoid dehydration and weariness. Furthermore, healthy fats from almonds, cashews, and seeds promote long-term satiety, while fiber-rich fruits such as bananas, apples, and papayas aid digestion and energy retention.
Excessively salty and spicy foods can cause dehydration, resulting in fatigue and restlessness all day. Similarly, sugary foods, such as pastries, sweets, and sodas, should be avoided since they cause fluctuations in blood sugar levels, resulting in weakness. Caffeinated beverages such as tea, coffee, and soft drinks should also be avoided, as caffeine can cause dehydration and headaches. A well-balanced Sehri, which focuses on healthful and nutritious foods, promotes stamina and a healthy fasting experience throughout Ramadan.
