Breaking: Resident Doctors in Delhi Called off their Strike, see the full report here

Resident Doctors Strike: On Friday, Residents Doctor announced to call off their ongoing strike which was declared by the  Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA). The strike aggravated alleging manhandling of doctors by the police. Doctors were set out to protest due to the delay in NEET-PG counselling.

The doctor will resume their work from today at 12:00pm. 



Why Doctors were on Strike?

  • Resident doctors, started their protests pointing out that the delay in new admissions to various medical colleges has increased the workload and pressure on doctors in government hospitals.

  • Over the last week, they have intensified their protests saying that further delay in admissions could lead to an acute situation amid the rise in coronavirus cases in the country.

  • While peaceful protestation, many doctors, including females faced police brutality when personnel of Delhi Police openly lathi-charged by the police. Resident doctors claim that several medical staff was wounded during the protest.

  • Even after a dialogue with the Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya, doctors issues were not resolved thus they continued their protest.
