Ronit Roy: Know everything about his Early Life, Tv and Film Career, Web series and Upcoming Shows

The Indian actor Ronit Bose Roy, popularly known as Ronit Roy, is predominantly known for his work in the film and television industry. He has worked as a TV host, model and he also functions as businessman,and television and film producer.He has presented plenty of his work in Bollywood as well as Bengali Cinema. The actor will soon be seen with Sangita Ghosh. Let’s take a look at his early life, career and personal life.

 

Ronit Roy Early Life

Ronit Roy was  born on October 11, 1965, in Nagpur, Maharashtra. He comes from a Bengali family and his father Brothindranath is a businessman by profession while his mother is Dolly Bose Roy. He has a younger brother called Rohit Roy, who is also an actor by profession. He completed his graduation in Hotel Management.

Ronit Bose Roy had married Joanna and in 1991, they had a daughter called Ona but the couple got separated in 1997. Later in 2003, on December 25, he got married to the actress Neelam Singh. He has a daughter Aador and a son called Agastya with Neelam.



Ronit Roy Film Career

Ronit Roy began his career with the 1992 film “Jaan Tere Naam” year 1992, which was a box office success. The next year he shared the screen with Aditya Pancholi and Kishori Shahane in the film called ‘Bomb Blast’, this film also made a commercial success.

Later in 2010, he appeared in the film ‘Udaan’ which received critical acclaim, his work in the film was very much appreciated. After this, he was featured in the bollywood films like Girl in Yellow Boots, Student of the Year, Midnight’s Children, Shootout at Wadala, and Ugly etc

He played the antagonist in the 2013 film BOSS which featured Akshay Kumar as the protagonist.

Later in 2014, he appeared in Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor starrer 2 States, he played the father of Arjun Kapoor. He also appeared in Kaabil with Hrithik Roshan playing the role of an antagonist in the thriller film Kaabil. He also made his Telugu film with N.T.R Jr.’s Jai Lava Kusa, he  was seen in the role of Sarkar- the antagonist. He was also seen in 2017 film Machine, Lucknow Central and 2018 film Loveyatri.



Ronit Roy TV Shows

Ronit Roy was seen in 1997, tv serial called “Bombay Blue” although it was a cameo appearance. He also worked in the television serial Kammal, but he worked there from 2002-2003 only. Later he worked in Ekta Kapoor’s  TV show Kasautii Zindagii Kay, where he was seen in the role of Rishabh Bajaj. After this he played the role of MIhir Virani in the tv show ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’. HE had replaced Amar Upadhyay and audiences loved him in the role.  From the year 2009 to 2011 he was seen as Dharamraj in the NDTV Imagine’s tv series called Bandini.

After this, in 2007, he was also seen in the dance reality tv show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and in 2008, he participated in another reality tv show called Yeh Hai Jalwa.

He also hosted the reality tv show ‘Kitchen Champions’ on Colors TV channel.

In 2010 he was seen in Sony TV’s popular drama show Adaalat where he played the role of K.D. Pathak. He was also seen in the tv series like Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyar as Dr. Nachiket Khanna. In 2016, he was again seen in Adaalat season 2.


Ronit Roy Web Series

Actor Ronit Roy made his OTT debut with ALT Balaji’s web series Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain which went on air in 2018. He shared the screen with Mona Singh and Gurdeep Kohli.

Later in 2019, he  was seen in the crime thriller drama series ‘Hostages’.



Ronit Roy Upcoming Films and Shows

The actor will soon be seen in romantic sports film Liger, directed by Puri Jagannadh. Apart from this, Ronit Bose Roy will share the screen with the actress Sangita Ghosh in the family-drama Swaran Ghar. The show will soon go on air.
