Sanjiv Goenka Family 

Sanjiv was born with a silver spoon in an affluent Marwari family on 29 January 1961 to Sushila Devi Goenka and Rama Prasad Goenka, a businessman. Born and brought up in Kolkata, he went to St. Xavier’s College in his home state to pursue his graduation.

He was awarded the third highest civilian honor of India, the Padma Bhushan Award in 2016, the Lifetime Achievements Award by the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta in 2019, the FICCI Business Excellence Award in 2014, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2006 and     

Businessman of the Year Award by Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2005.  

Goenka is married to Preeti Goenka, and the two have a son and a daughter together named Shashwat and Shriya Goenka. In his leisure time, Goenka likes to indulge in golf matches. His inclination towards sports is evident from his investments in cricket and football. 

In 2023, he was selected by the Padma Award Committee to select the recipients of India's esteemed award.
