Ae Watan Mere Watan:  Women and radio, both played a significant role in the Indian Freedom struggle. Sara Ali Khan’s upcoming period film of India’s freedom struggle honors the two together. ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ starring Sara Ali Khan in the lead role is all set to have its OTT premiere really soon. The movie also promises a special appearance by Emraan Hashmi.

Fans of Sara Ali Khan and patriotic bollywood movies will be able to watch the story of Usha Mehta, a poignant, valiant, and young freedom fighter on 21 March on Prime Video. The movie is based on the real life of Usha who used her words to ignite the zeal of rebellion and courage to fight against British rule.

Ae Watan Mere Watan Plot 

The movie inspired by the Indian freedom struggle brings in spotlight on Usha Mehta, a young freedom fighter using Radio to mobilize her countrymen and fill them with the courage to take a stand against the atrocities of the British. Usha channelizes her passion by means of an underground radio station to reach out to Indians around the country. She is operating a clandestine Congress radio in secrecy during the Quit India Movement delivering addresses to boost the Indians’s valor to fight back for their independence. The plot gets on the edge when Usha is arrested. The anticipation of what will happen with her for challenging the status quo will keep you hooked to the movie.  

Ae Watan Mere Watan Cast and Makers 

Sara Ali Khan essays the valiant Usha Mehta on the radio. Joining her are Sachin Khedekar, Abhay Verma, Sparsh Shrivastav, Alexx O'Neil, and Anand Tiwari, with a special appearance by Emraan Hashmi. 

The movie is backed by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra’s Dharmatic Entertainment, with Kannan Iyer wearing the director’s hat and Darab Farooqi leading the screenplay and dialogue. Real-life events of the Indian freedom struggle in 1942 inspired the movie.
