Who is Shalini Passi?

An art connoisseur at heart, Shalini Passo wears many hats in the realm of art and fashion. She is an art collector, fashion patron, and philanthropist based in Delhi. She was born on 8 August 1978 in New Delhi. Her husband Sanjay Passi is the chairman of PASCO Group “North India's leaders in the Automobile Industry”.

Shalini herself is the founder of MASH, a “ digital platform that explores the intersection of architecture, art, craft, design, and fashion in an accessible and engaging format” by supporting young emerging artists. She also has her own organization called ‘The Shalini Passi Art Foundation’ founded in 2018. 

Interest in arts 

Reports suggest that Shalini’s interest in art stemmed from her early exposure to her family’s construction legacy that fueled her dreams for creation. To pursue these dreams she also ventured into the science of architecture, however, her challenges with the subject of Mathematics made her channel her creative skills to art, design, and fashion.

Her passion for arts and the personal experience of failing to pursue her first dream inspired her to lend a voice to those who need it in the form of MASH and The Shalini Passi Foundation. 

She is also on board as a member of the Khoj Advisory Board since 2012, a non-profit that supports contemporary art and emerging artists in South Asia.

Shalini Passi’s Philanthropy 

Not just a connoisseur, Shalini is also an advocate for the arts education of underprivileged children. She also works with the Delhi Society for the Welfare of Special Children. She along with her husband Sanjay has donated Ten Crore Rupees to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. During the pandemic, she used her social media presence to host an online exhibition to raise funds for Covid Relief India.
