Share Market: Bharti Global, the international investment arm of Bharti Enterprises, has bought 24.5% shares in BT Group PLC of Altice UK. BT Group PLC is the investment vehicle of the biggest shareholder and telecom tycoon of the British Telecom firm, Patrick Drahi. According to the current market price, the purchase of the 24.5% share is worth Rs. 31,850 Cr, i.e. around 4 billion dollars. According to this, the deal is the biggest outbound deal done by any Indian company with Bharti Global becoming the biggest shareholder in BT Group.
If we talk about the market, then Bharti Global will be the biggest shareholder in BT Group. In terms of market capitalization, Bharti Airtel’s market cap is around Rs 8.26 Lakh Cr. Whereas, BT Group’s market cap is Rs 1.49 Lakh Cr. With this investment, Bharti Group is rapidly increasing its presence in the international telecom market.
