Shark Tank India 4 Judges: Another season of Shark Tank India just rolled out, with new pitches, competition, and exciting deals. With every season, the show becomes more intriguing, with the introduction of new sharks who seal the deal with the budding entrepreneurs to give them a platform for growing their business. Shark Tank India Season 4 features a diverse panel of Sharks, featuring a powerhouse of industry leaders: Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Namita Thapar, Ritesh Agarwal, Peyush Bansal, Vineeta Singh, Azhar Iqubal, Varun Dua, Kunal Bahl, and Viraj Bahl. 

This season, two new judges were introduced, including Kunal Bahl, the Co-founder of Snapdeal and Titan Capital. Kunal Bahl is the man behind the success of e-Commerce company Snapdeal. Let us know more about his life, education, career, and more. 

Early Life & Education

Kunal Bahl was born on January 1, 1984, and attended Delhi Public School R.K. Puram for his early education. He eventually attended the University of Pennsylvania and enrolled in the famed Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology. He earned two bachelor’s degrees: one in Entrepreneurship, Operations, and Information Management from The Wharton School, and another in Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Science. He also attended an executive marketing program at the Kellogg School of Management to further grow his business skills.

Kunal Bahl Career

Kunal joined Rohit Bansal, a boyhood buddy who was working for CapitalOne at the time, to try his hand at business. They started an offline couponing business in 2007-08. Bahl co-founded Snapdeal in 2010. In 2022, the company adopted AceVector’s corporate brand, which includes several businesses such as Snapdeal, Unicommerce, and Stellaro Brands. He is the promoter of Unicommerce, an Indian SaaS company whose IPO in 2024 was one of the year's most heavily subscribed.

When Kunal Bahl and Rahul Bansal were fresh off co-founding Snapdeal in 2015, they started a new company, Titan Capital. The fund company was established to provide financial support to entrepreneurs with creative ideas and future-oriented startup ventures. Titan Capital has invested in businesses such as Ola, Urban Company, Mamaearth, Credgenics, Shadowfax, Razorpay, and Giva. Notably, Titan Capital, which uses Kunal and Rohit Bansal’s personal capital, has returned more than 100 times on various investments, including Ola, Urban Company, and Mamaearth.

Other Notable Works

Kunal Bahl also holds various key posts. He is on the board of governors of the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations, is a member of NASSCOM’s executive council, and chairs the Confederation of Indian Industry's National Committee on Ecommerce. He is a member of the National Startup Advisory Council. He is also an independent director on Piramal Enterprises’ board.

In addition to his success at Snapdeal, Kunal suggested Ola to Rohit Bansal, and the two invested $60,000 in the startup. This investment proved to be a wonderful option. Kunal Bahl has made 255 investments, including Urban Company, Razorpay, and several others. As an investor, Bahl has 22 exits and 7 unicorns.

Kunal Bahl is the new shark on Shark Tank India season 4, taking over for Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal. Prior to this, Kunal Bahl was one of three judges on Prime Video’s reality show ‘Mission Start Ab’, which aired on December 19, 2023, and featured ten startups competing for mentorship and investment.
