Sparsh Shrivastava Exclusive Interview: Reflecting Back On His Journey From Chak Dhoom Dhoom To Oscars

Laapataa Ladies:  Sparsh Srivastava became a popular name in a matter of months with the achievements of his last project ‘Laapataa Ladies’. A rom-com directed by Kiran Rao, and also India’s official entry in the Oscars Awards 2025. Sparsh’s journey however is not of mere months but years and decades long. He first came to the limelight as the winner of the children's dance reality show ‘Chak Dhoom Dhoom’ in 2010. And today he is an Oscar-nominated actor. In an exclusive interview, he sits back and reflects on his journey.

Laapataa Ladies selected for Oscars 

Sharing his feeling of the time he found out about the Oscars nomination he recalled it as an “emotional” one. After winning the dance reality show, the Agar-born actor would shoot audition videos at his home in Agra and travel to Mumbai to work or shoot whenever he landed an opportunity. With ‘Laapataa Ladies’ he was the first person to audition, and was liked by the selectors yet it took 2 months for the opportunity to finally knock on his doors, to which he leaped.
