Summer Vacation Activities: Watch These Nostalgic TV Cartoon With Your Children To Relive Your Childhood

Summer Vacation 2024: Oftentimes we find ourselves dwelling on your childhood when things were simpler and calmer. The TV shows were free of the exaggerating melodrama, and cartoon shows were not violent, chaotic and aggressive. Summer vacations back then used to be the time to visit ‘nani ke ghar’, eat mangoes and sit in front of the TV everyday at a particular time to watch our favorite cartoon shows. Now that we have shifted to the anytime and anywhere medium of OTT, those times feel like distant dreams. 

You can make this summer vacation special by revisiting some of these cartoons. It will also make a great bonding activity with your kids, nieces, nephews, or just young kids you have in your household who have only known YouTube Kids.

Oswald 

One of the most calming cartoon shows of its time the visuals and music of Oswald will transpire into a fantastical world. The anthropomorphic characters go through their everyday life with each episode having a major mission they accomplish by the end of the episode after a series of challenges. The show is perfect to slow down your always rushing kids and teach them the importance of the mundane with each episode sharing a lesson.

Tom & Jerry

Tom & Jerry carries the bitter-sweet relationship between a cat and a mouse, two natural opposites. The show is devoid of any dialogues except for a rare few further solidifying the important use of audio effects for entertainment. Tom & Jerry hold no grudges, they embrace the warmth and banter of each other and go back to being their true nature, no conflicts until the next episode. 

Merrie Melodies & Looney Tunes 

Tune in to Looney Tunes and revisit the show as an adult getting all those intended puns and jokes that were just all too sweet for us kids. 

Noddy 

Created by none other than Enid Blyton himself, Noddy the character was adapted into a cartoon show on TV. Noddy has been a joyful companion of summer vacations. A wooden boy on the streets of Toyland with his taxi. The character has traveled from books to animated series his adventure in Toyland imparts values of friendship, kindness and power of imagination. 

Dragon Tales 

An educational animated musical series, Dragon Tales follows the adventure of Emy and Max in the Dragon Land with Ord and Cassie two amicable dragons of the Dragon Land. The show is a marvel take on the significance of teamwork and not stopping to believe in oneself.
