Sunjay Kapur Dies at 53: Karisma Kapoor’s Ex-Husband Married Thrice; Leaves Behind Billion-Dollar Fortune

Sunjay Kapur Death:  Indian businessman, billionaire, and the ex-husband of Karisma, died at the age of 53 in Britain on Thursday. He suffered a heart attack while playing a match of polo in Britain and could not survive it despite treatment. The death of Kapur has shocked his family and friends. As one of the prominent businessmen of India, he leaves behind a fortune worth billions with three kids and a total of three marriages. 

Who is Sunjay Kapur?

Born to Rani Kapur and late Surinder Kapur in Delhi, Sunjay Kapoor is the chairman of Sona Comstar, an automobile component company known to provide elements to electric vehicles. 

The Sona Group was founded by his father, and later Sunjay shouldered the responsibility of expanding it to wilder horizons.

Education  

Sunjay Kapur gained his education from India and abroad. He went to the Doon School in Dehradun and the Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai before moving out of the country to pursue a BBA in Corporate Strategy and HR from London.

He also boasted of having completed prestigious courses at MIT and Harvard Business School

Three Marriages & Kids 

His personal life has been in the limelight for a long time due to his marriages and separations. Kapur married thrice in his lifetime and has left behind three kids from two of his marriages.

He was first married to Nandita Mahtani, a Mumbai-based fashion designer, but got separated in 2002.

A year later, he tied the knot with actress Karisma Kapoor, and they had two kids together, daughter Samaira and son Kian. The two parted ways in 2016, with the children staying with Karisma; however, both co-parented them. 

In 2017, Sunjay married again to Priya Sachdeva, with whom he had a son, Azarius.

Sunjay Kapur Networth 

According to Forbes, his net worth was $1.1 to $1.18 billion, or about Rs 9200 crore. He was also the owner of many lavish properties in Delhi, Mumbai, and London, with a swanky collection of cars. He was also associated with his alma mater, The Doon School, as a board member.
