24 Feb, 2025

Telangana Tunnel Collapse: The Indian Army is still conducting rescue operations to save the lives of 8 workers who were trapped in a tunnel collapse incident in the Srisailam Tunnel Canal Project (SLBC) in Telangana’s Nagarkurnool district during its construction. The Army, working with the NDRF, is assisting in the rescue of workers trapped in the tunnel. The workers are trapped approximately 14 kilometers deep inside the tunnel.

Workers Still Trapped in The Tunnel

More than 45 hours had passed since the workers got trapped inside the tunnel. Despite all of the efforts, there is no hope of success yet. The tunnel’s remaining 200 meters are filled with water and dirt, making it extremely difficult for rescue teams to reach the trapped workers. Apart from this, large machinery cannot be transported through the tunnel. As a result, attempts are being made to clear the debris by other means. Rescue workers are trying to pass with the help of rubber tubes and wooden lanks.
