Telecom News: After launching Reliance Jio in India, Mukesh Ambani is eyeing on the telecom market of Africa. Through a telecom venture, Reliance is trying to reach mobile broadband customers in this high growth market. Harkeera Singh, Executive Director of Next Gen Infra Com (NGIC), said that a unit of Reliance Industries, Radices Corp, will provide network infrastructure, applications and smartphones to Ghana-based NGIC.
Singh said that NGIC will start providing 5G broadband services and internet services to mobile operators in Ghana by the end of this year. In Ghana, only NGIC has a 5G license for the next 15 years. In India, Jio has worked to bring digital revolution in India through affordable mobile phones and data services. Similarly, NGIC wants to bring affordable mobile broadband services and devices to people in Ghana on this path.
