The Great Indian Family Movie:  Known for picking up eccentric roles, from “Sardar Udham Singh” to “Govinda Naam Mera” Vicky Kaushal, has always pleased the audience with his outstanding screen presence. After a successful response from his latest release “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke,” is all set to return to the big screens with his upcoming family drama “The Great Indian Family.” While the teaser gave us a glimpse of the story, the makers have now released the much-awaited trailer, which offers a larger picture of the fun-packed comedy drama.

The 2-minute trailer begins with a scene where Bhajan Kumar (Vicky Kaushal) makes an entry in a “pandaal” of a small town named Balarampur. He begins by singing Kanhaiya Twitter Pe Aja and introduces himself as Ved Vyas Tripathi. He describes his family, who are from the Pandit Community and have lived in Balrampur for generations. In the trailer, there is a scene when girls are touching Bhajan’s feet to seek blessings, and he is not able to find his love interest just because he sings “bhajans”. However, Manushi Chillar's entry makes his dream come true as he starts pursuing her. 


Bhajan’s smooth-going and happy life turns into chaos when he receives a letter that claims him being a Muslim. His life turns upside down after he decides to prove himself innocent by going against his family. The film is taglined as the ‘Biggest Confusion of the Year.’

The Great Indian Family Release Date, Cast

While the movie is expected to talk about the Hindu-Muslim topic that remains unhinged in our society, the trailer has not given any hints regarding this. The movie is set to release on 22nd September, 2023, and stars Vicky Kaushal and Miss World 2017 Manushi Chillar in lead roles. The movie also stars Kumud Mishra, Yaspal Saha, Manoj Pahwa, Alka Amin, and others. The movie is written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya who also helmed Dhoom 3 and Thugs of Hindostan.
