Germany's leading automaker Mercedes-Benz has been revving it up with the next generation model of its famous SUV GLA range in the Indian market. This lineup includes the standard GLA and the performance model AMG GLA 35 model. The regular and AMG versions of the new generation Mercedes-Benz GLA are being sold in the Indian market through the CKD (completely knocked-down) route. Let’s take a look at its specifications.

Mercedes-Benz GLA 35 AMG Exterior

To distinguish the AMG GLA 35 4M from the regular version, the grille features vertically stacked slats with chrome, AMG bumper with flicks on the air intakes, and other AMG specific design elements. The new Multibeam headlamps are hard to miss and complements the sloping bonnet design. The vehicle rides on 19-inch alloy wheels that are aerodynamically optimised and are painted in Tantalite Grey with a high-sheen finish. The rear section gets sporty detailing in the form of two twin diffusers for efficient aerodynamics, LED tail lamps, round exhaust with chrome, and curtain elements in the bumper to enhance its sharp characteristics.

The company has used the MBUX infotainment system in the new GLA. In which special features like panoramic sunroof, 64 colour ambient light, wood / aluminium interior trim, 2 zone climate control, charcoal EPA filter, wireless charging and smartphone integration have been given. Additional feature highlights include - the Mercedes Me Connected services, Burmester surround sound system, and keyless Go package.

Mercedes-Benz GLA 35 AMG Engine

The new GLA gets a choice of petrol and diesel engines sourced from the A-Class Limousine. Its 1.3-litre petrol engine generates maximum power of 161 bhp and peak torque of 250 Nm. Its oil burner 2.0-litre engine generates maximum power of 188 bhp and peak torque of 400 Nm. Its petrol unit is equipped with a 7-speed DCT unit. At the same time, its diesel engine is equipped with an 8-speed G-tronic automatic torque converter unit.
