Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport, Delhi) has achieved another feat and has joined the world's 10 busiest airports. According to the Global Air Traffic Statistics for 2022, the United States has the most airports in terms of the world's busiest airports. Although Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport remains the world's busiest airport for the second year in a row. This airport in Georgia was the busiest airport in the whole world even in 2021 after the Corona epidemic. 

The Airports Council International (ACI), a trade association representing 2,000 airports around the world, on Wednesday released a ranking of the world's busiest airports in terms of passengers. This list includes America's Dallas / Fort Worth, Denver Chicago O'Hare and Los Angeles Airport. 

World's busiest airports in terms of passenger traffic

  1. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta, Georgia (ATL): 93.7 million passengers

  2. Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas (DFW): 73.4 million passengers

  3. Denver, Colorado (DEN): 69.3 million passengers

  4. Chicago O'Hare, Illinois (ORD): 68.3 million passengers

  5. Dubai, United Arab Emirates (DXB): 66.1 million passengers

  6. Los Angeles, California (LAX): 65.9 million passengers

  7. Istanbul, Türkiye (IST): 64.3 million passengers

  8. London Heathrow, United Kingdom (LHR): 61.6 million passengers

  9. Delhi, India (DEL): 59.5 million passengers

  10. Paris Charles de Gaulle, France (CDG): 57.5 million passengers
