Hero No. 1 Shelved: Tiger Shroff is no new to big budget blockbuster. Following the release of his last box office failure, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ things look bad for the ‘Heropanti’ famed actor as his upcoming project is reported to be impacted by his last flop. According to reports, Shroff is a part of Pooja Entertainment’s next project titled ‘Hero No. 1’ however due to the loss of his previous film his new film has been shelved by the production house. Sources reported that after shooting 20% of the film, the shoot has been halted.

Shroff’s ‘Hero No.1’ is not the first or only movie in recent years to face this setback. Take a look at some big titles revealed by the makers that have not yet made it to the big screens despite years after their announcement.

Takht

Karan Johar announced his “dream project”, a period drama boasting an ensemble cast of Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and Bhumi Pednekar in 2018. The movie has not technically been shelved but been delayed indefinitely. COVID played a real villain in postponing the production of the film initially.

Dostana 2

Another film KJO’s Dharma Production, Dostana 2 initially starring Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor and Lakshya Lalwani got shelved after 30 to 40 days of shooting. Among the many reasons for the shelving, a fall out between Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar made several headlines leading to Aaryan leaving the project.

The Immortal Ashwathama

Helmed by Aditya Dhar, starring Vicky Kaushal in the titular role of Ashwathama, the mythological superhero film got shelved due to the budget constraints. An ambitious vision to incorporate the best class of VFX, the film’s budget did not align with the grandeur of the film.

Shuddhhi

Another big budget film from the production of Karan Johar, Shuddhi was rumoured to be based on the book by Amish titles ‘The Immortals of Meluha’. The indecisive cast of the film, from Hrithik Roshan to Salman Khan to Varun Dhawan became the reason for it to get canned.

Jee Le Zara

We were finally getting a women’s road trip buddy film however the makers of the film have no recent update on ‘Jee Le Zara’. The film by Farhan Akhtar, has been delayed after its announcement back in 2021 when the star cast of the film was speculated to be Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.
