Tihar’s Ex-Jailer Gives An Insight On What Goes Inside The Infamous Prison Of India

Tihar Jail:  Sunil Gupta is an ex-jailer of Tihar Jail, and is now a published author. His book ‘Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer’ is soon to be adapted into an OTT series, with a British film company securing the rights for its cinematic adaptation, as revealed by Gupta himself. 

What goes inside the Tihar Jail?

Prompted to share his experience at Tihar, Gupta shared that he has served at the prison in multiple capacities ranging from administrative roles to Law enforcers. Since 1981, he has seen a variety of prisoners and also overlooked the instances of capital punishment. In his time at Tihar, he witnessed at least 8 capital punishments out of which Afzal Guru’s death sentence stayed with him due to the last conversation he had with him where he revealed that he is accepting this fate for the betterment of his community.
