India is one of the world's fastest-growing auto marketplaces and has a rising demand for cutting-edge vehicles. May is anticipated to be a significant month for the automobile sector, similar to the previous four months, as some important car launches are slated. Here is a list of the most significant automobile launches scheduled for India in May 2023.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny

One of the most eagerly awaited debuts of this year is the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. This month will finally see the release of its prices. The 1.5-litre gasoline engine in the Jimny 5-door SUV produces 103 horsepower and 134 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4-speed automatic gearbox. Additionally, it will receive an AllGrip Pro 4X4 system for better off-road performance.

MG Comet EV

The MG Comet EV was recently introduced in India at a base price of Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom), but this month will see the release of prices for higher options. The Comet EV, which is currently the cheapest EV in India, has two doors and four seats and has a range of up to 230 kilometres. Higher trim levels will come with extras like a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, a digital instrument cluster of a similar size, linked technology, etc.

BMW X3 M40i

BMW Group India is taking reservations for the X3 M40i, and a pricing announcement is imminent. The BMW X3 M40i will be the most potent X3 model offered for purchase in India. It will be powered by a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder, petrol turbo engine with 355 horsepower and 500 Nm. The engine will be mated with an 8-speed AT and have a 48-volt mild hybrid system. 

Tata Altroz CNG

Altroz Tata CNG Bookings for the Tata Altroz CNG have just become available after it was first shown off at the 2023 Auto Expo in January of this year. An electric sunroof, direct start in CNG mode, cruise control, and new twin-cylinder technology rather than a single larger cylinder will all be standard features on the next Altroz CNG. This will free up more space within the boot. The Altroz CNG models will probably cost roughly Rs 1 lakh more than the equivalent petrol variants.

BMW M2

One of this Bavarian automakers' sportiest vehicles is the M2. This month, the second-generation model will debut in India. A 3.0-litre, twin-turbo inline-six engine producing 460 horsepower and 550 Nm will power the next BMW M2. It will be coupled to an 8-speed AT and a 6-speed manual gearbox.
