F&O Trading: According to recent data, in the year 2023, there has been a trading of about 85 billion contracts. In 2024, the number has already exceeded 30 billion, including a majority of retail investors. According to SEBI’s data, about 35% of the total F&O trade in the country belongs to Retail Investors in which more than 90% of the traders have lost about $5.4 billion.
The investment landscape of the country was usually influenced by the traditional methods of investment with real estate and gold being the primary investment tools. However, in the last few years, investors have also been affected in the share market, equity, and mutual funds. Now, in a hurry to make money, retail investors are doing F&O trading without the right knowledge and research, causing heavy losses.
