Moments when TV Serials cringed us by copying Bollywood plots

 

We always see TV shows consistently influenced by Bollywood movies. Numerous TV shows owe their plots to popular Bollywood movies.

TV Producers and directors regularly opt for a similar storyline again and again. Here are some top-notch TV shows that were a whole ‘copy-paste’ of hit Bollywood films.

 

Naagin (2015)

With Mouni Roy as the lead, TV show Naagin is notably influenced by Sridevi’s Nagina, the 1986 blockbuster movie. However, the show is delivered by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. The show has already become a franchise, with so many parts, different characters played by different TV actors.

Sapna Babul Ka… Bidaai (2007) 

This 2007 show was totally based on Sooraj Barjatya’s Vivaah, a film that centers entirely around Indian marriage. The film had Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao in their star cast. The show was so comparable they didn’t change the character Babuji as Alok Nath played the character in the film just as in the TV show.

Badho Bahu (2016)

Everything in the show, from the story to the poster was copied from the Hindi film Dum Laga Ke Haisha, which included Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar. The TV show revolves around the lead actor (Prince Narula) carrying his overweight wife (Rytasha Rathore) on his shoulders just like in the Bollywood movie. The plot spins around a big lady who wants her significant other to look at her beyond her physical appearance.

Do Hanson Ka Joda (2010) 

The show Do Hanson Ka Joda was motivated by the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, starring Anushka Sharma and Shah Rukh Khan. The show starred Big Boss 16 finalist Shaleen Bhanot, whose character looked similar to SRK in the movie. The show was on the NDTV Imagine channel for a very long time.

Dil Se Dil Tak (2017)

The Sidharth Shukla, Rashami Desai, and Jasmine Bhasin starrer was an inspiration from 2001 film, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke. The show was based on surrogacy and had the same plot.
