Twitter News: Elon Musk May Charge Users on Monthly Basis for Using X App

22 Sep, 2023

Latest Twitter News:  Several people across the world use the social media platform ‘X’, formerly Twitter, which was taken over by Elon Musk in 2022. Since then, many changes have been made in the platform, from purchasing the blue tick to completely changing the name to ‘X’. In a recent development, there have been reports that Elon Musk is planning to convert the platform into a subscription-based platform. This means you will only be able to use Twitter after paying a monthly subscription amount, just like Netflix or any other streaming service.

Which Users Will Not Be Charged?

The membership fee that will be charged for Twitter login has yet to be disclosed, although it is said to be less than Twitter Blue, i.e. X Premium. Blue Tick on mobile is now priced for Rs 900 in India.  However, users who already have a Twitter Blue subscription will not be charged for login. It is said that the move is an initiative to reduce bots on the platform.
