UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2021: The Supreme Court of India has refuted from providing relaxation for the UPSC Prelims Exam

UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2021:

The Supreme Court of India has refuted the appeal of the students who have already given their final attempt last year, seeking an extra chance to appear for the UPSC Preliminary examination. As per the reports, the students who have already exhausted their final attempt in Civil Service Examination 2020, had asked for an extra chance due to the difficulties faced by them while studying due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the nationwide lockdown. 

 

Appreciating the efforts of the Advocate on Record of the petitioners Anushree Kapadia, Justice AM Rastogi who announced the operative part of the judgement stated the lawyer “You argued well. You were clear on facts.”

 

While the candidates must note that the commission had announced earlier that no change will be made to the UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2021 exams date. And after the decision, the candidates will be accessible to apply for the UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2021 on the official website of UPSC. 

 

Taking into account, on 8th February the Supreme Court of India directed the Centre to consider granting one-time relaxation on the age limit to the UPSC Civil Service aspirants also comprising the candidates who have already given their last attempt for the same in 2020 owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the matter was yet to be apprehended by the Supreme Court and the UPSC Civil Service Prelims 2021 notification will be only released once the decision on the matter is taken.
