UPSC Topper Success Story: It is always said that success sees no gender, class and medium, it just considers your hardwork and dedication and follows you through. And something similar is the story of this IAS topper Gopal Krishna Ronani who was initially a school teacher, but to improve his social and economic condition,Gopal decided to go for UPSC Civil Services. A Son to dalit farmers, Gopal’s parents always had to face harassment from the society they lived in. The poor economical condition of the family forced Gopal to pursue his education, from not-so-good institutions.

Ronanki completed his distant education from Telugu Medium and joined Palasa Junior College after 10th to pursue his further studies. Soon after completing his 12th, Gopal gave a Training Exam for Teacher, and secured a job as a teacher at a Government school. While working as a teacher, Gopal completed his graduation. And in 2015, Gopal gave his first attempt of UPSC and failed his prelims. He then appeared again in 2016 and cleared his prelims. Due to poor economic conditions, he wasn’t able to receive any coaching. Ronanki chose Telugu Literature as his optional subject, and his friends used to put him down for this decision.

Gopal proved everyone wrong by clearing his mains too. After clearing the exam, Gopal was invited for the awarding ceremony organised by the Department of PTE for the top 20 scorers. And at that time, Gopal didn’t have money for the air ticket to Delhi and had to borrow it from an acquaintance. Gopal’s journey from scratch to a successful IAS officer has been full of hurdles, but amidst all the social, economic and mental harassment Gopal remains focused towards his goal which bore him sweet fruits in the end.

We hope this story of Gopal Krishna Ronanki, a UPSC topper, was inspirational for you.
