IRS Himanshu Gupta secured 304th rank in UPSC Civil Services Examination 2018, overcoming every difficult situation in life, Himanshu achieved the success that every youth of the country aspires for. IPS Himanshu Gupta hails from a small town in UP:

Himanshu hails from Siroli town of Bareilly district. His father used to work as a daily wage laborer, after which he started selling tea by setting up a tea stall. Himanshu also used to help his father in this work after school. Himanshu has fought hard for even basic needs since childhood as his school was 35 km away from home and he used to travel 70 km every day.

Himanshu moved to Delhi after Class 12th:

Himanshu told that when he used to serve tea to people at the tea shop, then he used to get a chance to talk to many types of people. During this, he used to observe that some people who did not even know how to count money which made him understand the importance of education, and then IRS Himanshu Gupta decided to become an eminent person in life. So, Himanshu decided to migrate to a big city after completing his 12th standard to pursue further studies.

Due to good marks in 12th, Himanshu got admission to the famous Hindu College of Delhi University but had to face many problems due to his weak financial condition. IRS Himanshu Gupta used to earn money by giving tuition to children along with college and made money for expenses by writing some paid blogs.

Himanshu Gupta qualified UGC-NET thrice:

After the completion of graduation, Himanshu gave many entrance exams for further studies in which he passed all the entrance examinations of MA, MBA, and MSc. Not only this, but Himanshu also secured a single-digit rank in the GATE exam, but due to his interest in science, he chose MSc. Along with his post-graduation, Himanshu cleared the UGC-NET exam thrice and topped his college.

Turned down overseas offers to prepare for UPSC:

After completing his studies, Himanshu got many offers to study abroad, but he wanted to do something good for his mother country and hence, decided to appear in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. To bear his expenses, Himanshu enrolled himself in the Mphil program as a JRF scholar, from where he started earning money.

Cracked UPSC Civil Services 2018 Exam to become IRS:

Himanshu Gupta in his first attempt could not even clear the prelims exam. Meanwhile, as a research scholar, he also started doing research in a lab. He fixed morning and night time for UPSC preparation and during the day he used to go to the lab for research. But to achieve the goal Himanshu never compromised and kept working hard. With better preparation in 2018, he once again appeared for the UPSC exam and fulfilled his childhood dream by securing 304th rank.
