Uttarakhand: PM Modi to launch 23 projects worth Rs 17500 crore, List of Important Projects in the state

Uttarakhand: On Thursday 30 December 2021, PM Narendra Modi will pay a visit to the Haldwani city of Uttarakhand. According to the report of PMO, PM will lay the foundation stone of the Lakhwar Multipurpose Project. This project is worth Rs 5,750 crore. 

In 1976, the project was first conceived and was lying pending since then. PM prioritised building the long-pending projects. The PMO further added that the  Lakhwar Multipurpose Project will help in the process of irrigation of about 34,000 hectares of additional land. Also, it will produce 300 MW hydropower and supply drinking water to the six states, namely, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Important Projects to be launched in Uttarakhand by PM Modi

• Inauguration and foundation stone laying of multiple road sector projects worth about Rs 8700 by PM Modi.

• The four road projects will also be inaugurated. The first one is 85km Moradabad-Kashipur Road worth Rs 4000 crore. The second is the 22 Km stretch of Gadarpur-Dineshpur-Madkota-Haldwani road (SH-5). The third is the 18 km stretch of Kiccha to Pantnagar (SH-44). Also the construction of 8km long Khatima bypass in Udham Singh Nagar. The construction of four-lane NH109D is being built worth 175 crores.

• Under, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna, projects like 33 rural roads of length 1157 km at a cost of Rs 625 crore approx and the construction of 151 bridges at a cost of about Rs 450 crores will also be done.

• PM Modi will lay the foundation of the AIIMS Rishikesh satellite centre in the Udham Singh Nagar district. The cost of the project is Rs 500 crores

•  Also, the foundation of Jagjivan Ram Government Medical College at Pithoragarh will be laid. The cost of the project is Rs 450 crores.

• The foundation for the construction of around 2400 homes for the EWS in the cities of Sitarganj and Kashipur in Udham Singh Nagar district. The project is worth Rs 170 crores.

• PM will lay the foundation stone of 73 water supply schemes across 13 districts of the state under the Jal Jeevan Mission to improve water supply in rural areas.

• Inauguration of the 5 MegaWatt capacity Suringad-II run of the river hydroelectric project built by Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam (UJVN) Limited at Munsyari in Pithoragarh. Its cost is about Rs 50 crore. 

• Inauguration of 2 sewage treatment plants of 7 MLD and 1.5 MLD capacity. They are being constructed at the cost of about Rs 50 crore at Nainital.

• PMO also reported that the foundation stone of a 41 acre Aroma Park at Kashipur will be laid.
