Veteran Actor Manoj Kumar Aka Bharat Passes Away At 87

Bollywood Update:  Bollywood’s veteran actor-director Manoj Kumar also known as Bharat passed away at the age of 87 on Friday. The 87-year-old actor was an icon of patriotism in the Hindi film industry with a filmography that played a huge role in motivating the people of the country to value its rich cultural heritage. 

Manoj Kumar took his last breath at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. The news has deeply saddened the film industry and the nation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences on his passing. Filmmaker Ashok Pandit paid homage to the actor saying this is the departure of our inspiration source and film industry’s lion.  

Some of the most notable films of Manoj Kumar were ‘Purab Aur Paschim’, ‘Sanyasi’, ‘Roti Kapda Aur Makan’ and ‘Dus Numbari’.
